Dipping In and Out

He was angry with me today
Bottled up frustration
Kicked the soul out of him
And his love for me

He hates me today
I hate myself
But he would say
Darling, you always have...

This is me
Dipping in and out
Of sorrowful and euphoria
I smile and I cry

He has always been
My escort
Carrying my bags
Wondering where next I will be

I asked him to carry so much
I asked him to see too much
I asked him to cope with too much
I asked him to love me too much

This is me
Dipping in and out
Of sorrowful and euphoria
I smile and I cry

this is sad heartfelt,we all ask so much sometimes of those we trust most, those that are always there for us,we might get on their nerves every now and the,and sometimes its the other way,its give and take, after bottling things up,people in love get closer--smile:-)-wonderful write--charma

It's difficult to keep love on a steady keel when you are coping with the loss of your Mom, Jo. He is probably trying to help you, but either doesn't know how or feels frustrated that it's not working. Give him some time as you come to grips with your loss and hopefully he'll surprise you by being there when you are ready to open your heart again. Sad but beautiful poem, Jo. I'm here if you ever want to chat. Love, Carolyn
