Dim Lit Night

Quiet is the Dim Lit Night
Tearing Eyes cannot find sight
The Quarrelling Mind gives up the fight
Nothing now to make it right

The road to Freedom long is paved
So much Heartache along the way
The Eyes into the Soul today
Are blind and numb and well Betrayed

Kind and Gentle the Soul longs to be
Yet hopelessly Mental seems it Destiny
Save this Pen it's Company
Through times of Pain and Agony

Quiet is the Dim Lit Night

It's ok. you were not the first to say you liked the original version. So much for THAT exercise in rewriting poetry. haha.
