Notes About The Poem

The digital root of a number is found by adding its digits repeatedly until you get a single digit.
When you do this with multiples of 9, the result always comes back to 9.
1+8 = 9
2+7 = 9
3+6 = 9
4+5 = 9
9+9=18 => 1+8 = 9
Cats use this to get extra sets of 9 lives

 

Digital root gives cats extra lives

fell
  poisoned
     burned in blaze
      drowned in wild flood
   shot by an arrow
    stone wall collapsed in sleep
  claws lost their grip on brick wall
 last life lost, fell under a train
   nine lives spent chasing fate's dark design
  but lives fold back into hidden nines
digits encircle to new lives
27, 36
            their digits add to nine
                           lives begin again
                                   cat's life revives
                            fate resets
                nine more
   lives
