Different Oceans
Different Oceans
You say you want to be closer, with a tear in your eye,
But yet I can’t help but wonder what happen to you and I?
We started out so strong yet we faded in the end,
Once true hot lovers to now barely being friends.
We allow unnecessary things to monopolize our time,
What happen to the space that once yours and mine?
We take for granted what others hold so dear,
Blindly exposing, unconscious of the fear.
We live separate lives in the comfort of our home,
Pictures tell the stories of the lies that have been sown.
For too many years we’ve been going through the motions,
Never acknowledging our hearts that sailed on different oceans?
Yet here we sit, using up all the oxygen in the air,
Making small talk, pretending we still care.
As the room catches fire we barely feel the heat,
Too numb inside to even think retreat.
