DICTATING DESIRE

I subdued her so early
I forgot her existence
Every time she moved
Desire met with resistance

It mattered for nothing
My silence eased pain
No worries, little ones
I have Gibraltar's reins

I want air to breathe
A place to mend and rest
I have some good things...too
I believe I am blessed

I used to have dreams
But I filled them with matter
I lost all for LOVE
And still, my children scattered

Alone and empty
I stand on my long, grey, cement porch
No swing to lighten the weight
Of wondering what is all this processing for

....when I want to dance
