Diary of the Sun

From the dawning of life, In the depths of the sea, One people rose above the primordial strife, To embrace an contemporary civility, And forged a civilization apart from their hominid brethren, Cousins so distant their evolutionary polarity was personified as victor and loser, Mother Earth had never seen a people so noble nor a progress so driven, By a willpower that exceeded the basic tenants of ethnic survivors, No, these people were meant for more than chanting half naked in the jungle, To be more than feudal lords or subsistence farmers, But rather to compose magnificent orchestrations played in chapels, To forge swords of iron and travel the world as conquerors, Uncovering the secrets of life through science and philosophy, Establishing sophisticated societies ruled by democracy, Do not be ashamed of your pride and honor, Do not attempt to depreciate your heritage, For the moon reflects the grandeur of our future, Because we have earned our place on this earth, And in the diary of the sun.
