Diamond, Dust, Devil
Cluster, bright, shining,
Sound echoing to a distant whining,
Beautiful elegant and mesmerising,
perfection; flawless and tantalising,
A diamond; lust for the finger to wear
Eyes interlocked by the powers of hypnotic charm,
Beckoning by the wearer of gifts
Taking, forsaken a contract
exchanged with this prince of illusion,
Seconds follow immediate confusion,
Live glows an elegant sparkle
Before the wearer becomes aware of his demise,
Smoke rings of ferocious fire
Consume and burn skin like flakes of papyrus
The diamond a duller hue
As the body disintegrates in a mound of insignificant dust.
