Devastation

Fire is destructive
Once lit it travels fast
The wind encourages the fire to rage
Causing havoc as it passed

It fans the blaze like bellows
All become a seething maze
Which seems no soul could mellow

Fire causes devastation
To homes, livestock and land
Sometimes it takes lives
Ruins peoples dreams and plans

For a future that they have earned
How heartbreaking and tragic
To see all you have toiled for burned

Nature does not need
The interference of man
What happens naturally
Is part of natures plan

It is people we should strive to catch
These thoughtless, selfish people
Who start fires with a match
