Desperation

Watching from the window
fun and frolics in the room.
The intoxicated princess,
trying, making the moves.
Her prince...
so reluctant to commit.
Friends interrupt
to a slient room.
A tantrum and a fall,
gestures and glances
telling this teary tale.
The pledge and the plea
echo's...
Then the prince walks,
the princess now turned to the pauper
begging, plea in, wanting.
Rivers filled with anticipation,
as the prince leaves
leaving a single echo
WHY!
