Desperanza

If the world wishes to pass me by,
I will stand here and only wave
the long road is getting narrow,
because there's not much left to pave.
I would rather die to live,
then live forever just to die;
and this is for all those nights
you stayed up alone and cried.
I'm putting this pain on hold
I'm taking up a brand new art
I kill with the knife left in my back
and the razor sharp pieces of my heart.
I will use your sorrow as a canvas
as I paint a picture with their death
I kiss the painting when it’s done
and the varnish lies on my breath;
my symphony begins to compose
all your secrets are its notes
like a diary, I will ink my mind
with all the poems you wrote.
So I take the knife left in my back
now that the world is passing by,
I just stand there waving
for you I chose to die.
