Despair
Despair knocks at your door
unwavering and bold
the hinges on the door shake
unyielding to what waits beyond
floorboards creek and windows clatter
strain to much to bare
a sudden silence
no motion of notice
back of your neck a cold breeze
shivers run down your spine
your knees tremble
you turn and face despair
for it crept slowly in
the strong door you've built to hold
barricaded from the inside
unable to escape the lingering presence
irraticly trying to flee
decieving only but yourself
for it is now you and despair
and no one else
