Despair

My name is lost
the darkness claimed
like winters frost
it remains untamed

For weeks, for days I have been gone
night has been my only friend
no light has come, no saving Dawn
with me to wonder if it's the end

Time flies by
but is it moving at all?
am I dead? will I die?
will the light come to call?

The dark made me new
it changed my thoughts
a different name rang true
and untied my knots

My purpose came known
the old me had left
no longer alone
the dark now my theft

There was no going back
I was left in unrepair
my memories in a sack
my name was now Despair

Hi Bella.. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your well crafted write this evening. I always appreciate the giftings of a pen in the hand of a poet!
