Deserted Hearts

From the distant voices lost at sea
The seven eyes and blurry dreams
From the depths of every hidden land
There comes a love that’s made of sand

Through every loss and dying heart
Stands a darkness that departs
With the trust of caring minds
To build the strength to make us blind

Whispers of a painful time
Dead end places, painful rhymes
Dreaming everything you do
Becoming cold to get you through

Speaking to reflecting eyes
Hoping they can see you cry
Resting up in fading arms
Until reflections bring you harm

Nothing but the rain and dust
Tumbling in and out of lust
Hearts unseen within despair
Living dead and without care
