Desert Storm

Desert storms within my heart
I never knew such a turbulent start
Over the sand the winds blow fierce
Piercing my skin like sharpen spears

Melted glass runs down my cheeks
My mouth feels dry, my body week
From this terrain so hot and vast
Blasting through my pain at last

The crystal sun shining bright
My minds sharp like frozen light
It could be a mirage right ahead
Well of water but my eyes feel led

Over the dunes up and down
This never ending landscape of ground
The sweat just pouring down my body
This swirling sand makes my goggles foggy

As last the storm seems to pass
My heart so heavy just like brass
I stumble and fall like death at last
Smashing to pieces like broken glass

This poem sounds like you might have been there. Very vivid.
