Desert Chest
Out in the heat of the desert
A ride to God knows where !
A ruined roman amphitheatre
A cave of ancient brown bears !
Treasures in a moonlight chest
Gold and ruby pearls
How did a pirates hoard so rich
End up in the desert air
Three steps from the pillar
50 to the edge of rock
100 east of the threatre
And dig with a spade to the spot
Down to a floor of timbers
Dig again to the place of the shells
Crack them open for the next stage of distance
500 miles to a well
Drop down to a rope by 12 feet
And into a tunnel of black
Ring A bell on the bars of the cage
End up amoungst Chest in the cracks
For this was a trick from the pirates
The loot was long spent in the past
The chests contained scrolls of parchments
Laughing pictures of pirates with hats
