Depression Speaks

the child I used to be
is, nothing like me
now.
happiness disappeared
somewhere 'round my eleventh year.
this mask of despair to replace.
a sadness always upon my face.
my heart, it yearns for so much more.
for love to let me in the door.
but deserving, I've not been,
for love has never let me in.
I've lost hope, lost my way.
will my road come to end this day?
