Depression a Reaction

If people you know are depressed,
and you can't see the reason.
May I simply suggest,
it might be how you treat them.

When they struggle, when they're weak,
do you cuddle, do you beat,
When you're troubled, and they speak,
do they help you to your feet.

When they fall, do you feel strong,
think them fools, who get things wrong,
while you stand tall, where you belong,
as after all, you carried on.

Maybe you demand when stressed,
something you don't give the rest,
or is it that you stand the best,
only when they're down depressed.

You may say they've damaged DNA,
or claim it's their own fault,
forgetting help they gave your way,
when you fell you were caught.

If people you know are depressed,
and you can't see a reason,
maybe you should be selfless,
without them you'll be beaten.
