Departed Folks

Went back to the hills of my dear home today saw the old folks in their kindly way. Buried beneath soil so deep these dear folks of mine. Just now reading tombstones, names they had so fine. Death comes to all life so short, passing of time is but for a moment and we start to decline. In this cemetery it tells so many life stories and more, departing now, to live life until I reach that golden shore. wrote 9-11-08 NOTE HERE IN JULY OF 2008 WENT TO IOWA AND SAW A LOT OF MY FAMILY THAT WAS BURIED IN GRINNELL AND DES MOINES. THIS IS BASED ON THAT TRIP.

Each marker is a story in itself. I stop by once in a while to visit my mother's and Aunt's and Uncle's graves. It is a solemn moment that revives some of the memories. Vince

This poem touched my heart..I have written several poems about cemetaries, they are so facinating, you can learn so much by reading the headstones....When I go to my families graves, I always sit, and talk to them...I loved this write, Always, Christy
