Departed

In the blink of an eyelash, she had departed
    his moorings untethered, left brokenhearted

Then I suppose there's no way to prepare
to hear these four words, 'I never did care'

Happens to many, well-penned thoughts.

l didn't expect that last line Gershon…l assumed she passed away….it would be devastating to hear someone you love say l never cared! Lied to all along….Debx

This one is a favorite for that happened exactly to me and left me with years of depression. Such few words with such a truth in the end you realize the truth and the bottom line. Beauty can sometimes be not worth the chase and pain. In this case this foolish boy did not realize this until many years later. Neil Diamond said it best in his song. Song song blue everybody knows one.
