Denial

I’ll pretend that I can’t hear you
Just to satisfy my mind
Every word is another betrayal
Every word is one more cry

I’ll pretend that I can’t see you
Just to bury every pain
That every action is denial
And every movement is in vain

There’s nothing but intension
Either good, bad or lost
But in others eyes they seek to claim it
And every moment has its cost

I’ll pretend that I can’t touch you
Just to run away once more
Every heart that I have broken
Is a lie that I’ve suffered before

There’s nothing but confusion
To take away our souls
How can we care when we’re told it’s weakness?
How can we love when love is a hole?

I’ll pretend that I’m not here
Just to hate life and its lies
For every person that I want dead
Is another time I die
