Dementia

i look into your eyes,
and that sparkle has gone,
i often sit and wonder, why things have gone so wrong,
you were so lovely, and you were so strong,
but now we seem so distant,
and it feels like you have gone,
mental health has taken, its taken you away,
but in my heart, you will always stay,
as you sit there in your little chair,
all i see is a distant stare,
i know some day you will go to god above,
but i wont let you leave, leave without my love

This is such a sad condition that you portray well. Thankfully, you have your faith to see you through. It's so hard to see the light fading. From one O'Leary to another--Best wishes with your writing. Karen
