Deluded Hope

deluded hope
torn and twisted and mangled

deluded hope
shredded and sliced and mashed

deluded hope
strewn beneath dimming skies

deluded hope

yet hope persists
hope thrives
hope reawakens
sweltering lives

may hope persist
may hope thrive
may hope awaken

my
knowing that
i am still
alive
