Where they laid my love to rest there are crows -

two sentries standing at the large white cross

which marks his grave. I shout as chill wind blows:

Show me, my Love, how I can bear this loss.

To heaven soar above, dark-feathered birds.

Deliver to him my beseeching words!

You've got the power to command these crows...A nice invocation, do as you're told...

I love birds, and yes... they would do this for you... That is the way of birds... not openly... right off as you can see, but they remember... and do as they are asked often... Hugs. Prayers for the loss of someone dear. Ann

I think you have just made history as the first American to associate crows with Heaven! Good luck! Aloha! Rico

then again, I do not really know if those are crows in the picture or not!

I researched it first, Rico. Crows (unlike ravens) can symbolize many things beyond death and mystery: higher power and intelligence, creativity, wisdom and transformation. I found it very intersting. One place called them 'purity"!!

Really nicely done Andrea. This poem fits the photo wonderfully. Kind of dark but also holding on to hope

To emote such depth of feeling confirms to me that you either had the experience or that you are indeed a poet. Either way, this is a worthy expression of masterful design.

Excellent match to the graphic. Your imagination just keeps on keeping on like the energizer bunny. Luv, SuZ
