Deliver Me From Living In the North

Deliver Me From Living in the North By Elton Camp To the Northeast, my sympathies extend Here in Alabama I’ll be 70 this weekend To you, Sandy came and stayed a spell Now you have a snowstorm as well The electricity you got knocked out Now you are having another bout Your hear “youse guys” and rudeness Move down South for less crudeness Your cost of living is always high Living in the South you outta try Wear bib overall and have bare feet Say “y’all” to those that you meet Yep, tornadoes and hail you may endure But you’re better off living here for sure

I am not a pro on any form of poetry but...I know when I read a poem if I have enjoyed it. Now I have read yours and I have indeed enjoyed it Elton. I wish you a wonderful weekend and hope you find much inspiration to continue with your writing endeavors. Love, Carol

Hey Carol, Thanks for your kind comments. I'm an old man who writes merely as a hobby. My material isn't meant to be great literature, just fun. Elton

I've never lived outside the South so have no real basis for comparison. But from what I hear, I prefer it to the frigid north. Elton
