Delilah

Be it a spell Be it my fate Be it my train to hell A date with death's a date Yes I've heard the foreboding bell The book yet a sad tale will tell Death's inferior an angel to Loneliness And tis fatal when Death's your physicianess The child archer cherubim, your assassin I'm helpless, powerless 'gainst this sin Again I survived a kiss of dragon from her Yet somehow she'll earn my trust on a platter And every time on her bed of roses She brings water out of rock like Moses O! I am so confused My wits they're all defused My heart says let her in And my head says no no no Against my oat it's a sin Yet somehow I will let go She kills the savageness in me And put me to sleep like a baby I see them when I fall slumbering to her magic Those blank scornish slavey days of mine When I'd ask the blind familiar stranger How could hearts how could love be this Yet when she's near me I can't get my heartbeat static This love is far sweeter than fine wine In my mouth so sweet though I know 'tis vinegar Somehow she makes it sweet in a kiss
