Deja Vu

IN ANOTHER TIME, IN ANOTHER PLACE
I SAW YOUR FACE.

IN ANOTHER REALM, IN ANOTHER LIFE
YOU WERE MINE.

AT A DIFFERENT PACE IN THE SAME FAMILIAR WAY
YOU MADE MY HEART JUMP OUT OF ITS CASE.

YOU WOULD HOLD ME TIGHT
ON A SIMILAR NIGHTS
NIGHTS THAT WERE AS COLD AS THIS ONE IS.

YOUR LOVE HAS TRAPPED ME
IN ONE SCENE I WUD SWEAR WE WERE ON A MOVIE SCREEN
AND SOMEONES PRESSING REPEAT.

I'LL GLADY REMAIN THE STAR WITH YOU THIS OUR DEBUT INTO DEJA VU

(THIS IS A SONG THAT I WROTE WHEN I WAS 14. ABOUT MY FIRST BOYFRIEND)

Awesome writing and a very mature perspective for a 14-year-old mind, Taylor! Your gift remains with you today. Science has provided an "explanation" for the sense of deja vu, but I prefer to think of it the way you describe in this great poem. Love, Carolyn
