Deer and Fawn
We pranced by the river
As the wind swayed my antlers
I captured with my eyes, a picture
As my fawn jumped up and up seeing the pattern
Made by the leaves
In the big, fluffy shrub
This was the dream
But alas there was a man cub
My fawn went nearer
Peeking at this creature
Unwarned they were sinners
She was caught by the trigger
A parent’s biggest nightmare
Witnessed painfully with fear
Raced away in the darkness
I frayed in tears
