I read that when Hitchcock showed Psycho to whoever had to give it the okay; THEY said it was lacking something. Hitchcock took the reels home; put them on a shelf for several weeks, and didn't do anything to it. He took it back and everyone said it was great. He knew it was perfect.

Not to be misconstrued, I thought of that after I wrote it. A documentary on the making of, that scene passing the censors.

Exactly. Intent is all that is needed. Let the reader/viewer/who ever come to their own conclusions. And people's comments are based on what they know. Some people have never seen Psycho, but their comment is based on their knowledge. Your words are brilliant Maureen!!!
