Deep Waters

I'm drifting away on this plane of despair
No fighting this time as I've no breath to spare.

Twirl my fingers along the waters glass surface
Watch my reflection twist and turn with an unknown purpose.

Contemplate the depths of the deep waters pool
Considering all the ways I have been played the fool.

Mindful of the waves crashing over my prone form
There's no escape from the tormenting storm.

Battered and bruised I lay buried upon the edge
No more, no less, I'm done, I pledge.

There's an end in sight under the waters current
Slip my body away into the raging turrent.
