Deep Questions, Shallow Answers

There will always be tyrants;
There will always be violence.
Whether or not
There will always be heroes -
Everyday is decided
Virtue is nothing
But a word if you hide it.
Righteousness goes unrecognized
Even if you're standing beside it
When superseded by silence.
All of your sweetness and kindness
Are without meaning if your mind is
The only place that people can find them.
So speak up, remind us
What you believe in even
And especially if no-one agrees with your findings
The greatest achievement of humankind
Has naught to do with seas or the skies
It's that we keep asking why
No matter the reasons we find.

There are some people like puddles,
And there are others like oceans,
And yet in each you'll see that the mud is
Just as easy to clean up
As the water is the key to the puzzle.
Life's most secret surprise is
That when it comes down to the choices
To which the people are binded
Even the deepest of minds is
Just as shallow as the loudest of voices
If it doesn't speak up when time is
Moving faster than reason, behind us
Is all the proof that you should need to remind us
That every future has been decided
Not because an answer was found
But because we needed to find it.
