Deep Pains
I cannot forget the pain
caused by treatment of disdain,
which created deep sore
in my heart with less complain,
Offended, yet I`m still plain
in settling this score,
I tried so hard to retain
my good traits without refrain,
which few loved before.
Now failure knocks at the door,
Corruption lies on their floor,
Poor suffers neglect,
Honesty and truth they swore,
Orphans and youths` pains I bore,
which cause one defect,
Anger!which increases more
as greed builds up to the core,
This! people reject.
Good men we planned to elect,
Scheming we did not detect,
until dark turns black,
Complexion now an effect,
Our fathers before select,
yet,they do not lack,
Plights of people they respect,
Poor and weak we must protect,
The bad eggs must crack.
