Deep

Deep

You cannot reach me
I am far beyond your grasp
Slipping beneath the waves

The air is so far away
From the depths i'm in
Absolute zero is Clay
Only the surface of my skin

Void to warmth of sunshine
Farther than the light can reach
Evolving to live on the shallows' waste
Been so long since there's been taste
Bottomfeeder wants to be a leach

Down here, the pressure is immense
A vacuuous life
Intensely defensive
Silently sighing some more
Holding my breath

The plunge awaits
In patient certainty
But the water does not discern
It runs deeper than the fates
And the point of no return
