Dedication Poem 52
there was a lady about 52
she looked so sad and oh so blue
when i pass each day she would wave
a wave of love back was what i gave
i noticed that she would stare into space
perhaps she found comfort in a world some other place
when i pass each evening she would wish me good night
i replied similarly because it was only right
one sunny day about half past ten
i noticed a particular groove that she was in
she has antiquated headphones on sitting on a fountain
then she sang amusingly off key 'first there is a mountain....'
it is then, all of a sudden, an idea in my head did reach
out of the sky blue i ask 'would you like to go to the beach'
her eyes lit up and 'yes' she quickly nodded
laughing heavily, i replied 'okay, okay, i got it'
we get to the access and as we walked near,
i realized that she was wiping away many a tear
i did not pry and ask what was wrong
i just folded her arm in mine and moved us along
we found a cool spot in the sand and to my delight
her space turned into a landing as she looked left and me right
we took it all in and the vibe we would gleefully devour
little did we know that passed by was many an hour
we looked at each other and laughed till slightly hoarse
we knew that it was time to depart and take the familiar course
she thanked me with a hug and told me her dream was fulfilled
i ignored the hidden meaning due to being so emotionally thrilled
three weeks had passed and i saw no sign of her
i wondered if she moved on because a Special Blessing did occur
it is then an old man tapped me on the shoulder and said
'two days after y'all's beach day, she had a heart attack and fell dead'
