Declined Reciprocity

I will not ask for it
                    Though its not to late
I just don't want to be hurt
Scared if you'll take my mirth.

Yes! We'd run the race of time
With all the memories in melodious chime
The stories and moments we'd spent
To a friendship bond it went.

                    Twas an asymptotic world
                   All the segments never met
Yet, the stories were all told
And in the heart twas all kept.

A lovely write, better to be friends than to lose everything, but what do you miss if you don't take the chance (all or nothing).
