Decision Or---Fence

When you make a decision
that no one agrees
Will help you move forward
they get on their knees

They beg you to think
what your doing to them
How choices like these
will hurt and condemn

Your head is not right
they are quick to assume
That this affects them
bringing sadness and gloom

Your heart is in turmoil
take time to assess
What you, have decided
your thoughts are a mess

Are you doing what's right?
To yourself, you do plea
You answer, my heart
and my head do agree

So moving ahead
is yours to resolve
It's not about them
they need not involve

It's then that you'll see
it's just about you
To figure this out
this feeling, so new

You'll have to sit by
see how this plays out
Your decision is final
you know, there's no doubt

What'll be in your future
is anyone's guess
but one thing for certain
A decision is best

You can't waver and pause
for life to decide
What's best for your own self
Your happiness implied

You can't please them all
You have to be strong
and not let their words
hang round your head long

Be proud you just did
what a hero would do
You've just stood up tall
and announced you are true

For decisions are not
made lightly or quick
You've pondered your options
and made the best pick

For life is too short
to sit on the fence
Resolve and decide
you have the good sense

This one should hang on a wall somewhere. Words of wisdom indeed and so poetic.

Diane, Welcome to Poetry soup, I hope you enjoy the community. Here, you will find friendly poets who enjoy supporting one another. I myself, enjoy reading and commenting those who want to be read. The only time I give constructive criticism is when a poet desires it. However, if for some reason the poem is not my field I will guide you to someone who is more qualified than I. Stop by and read one of my poems if you like. My poems are not perfect, but I have a feeling you might like one. I encourage you to check out the contest page and read to receive comments. Tell me a little about your poetic skills if you like. It will be my pleasure to follow and read every poem you post from here on :) We are Lucky To Have you. Your New Poet Friend @-> LINDA <-@

Thank you so much and sorry it took sooo long for me to reply, i just figured that out. I appreciate constructive criticism...but I write from my heart and punctuation may not be what some desire, neither are my words right for some but I just fancy up what comes to my head when the situation arises. Some are easier than others, as we all know. have a great day

Sitting on the fence is condoning what's going on, better to decide one way or another even if its not easy, good poem x

Thank you very much, I am glad you liked it and got (the) intent. A person must decide, always. I so agree about the condoning part. This one actually kinda has a partner poem: "She's a Friend...Not"...Its family so they aren't happy...but I sure am.
