Deception

The words you speak so sweet and clear. Seem written by another. As they reak of deception going into my ear. Sweet angle why mask the truth in lies. Love is more than a game. For which in the end everyone cries. Once you were there now you haunt my heart as a ghost. Empty are my arms the soul is shattred. Lost are my thoughts for this body is only a host. I am but the remains of what used to be. Broken in spirt. A lost fool for all to see. And on empty nights I yern. For the warmth of you. But i know you'll not return. Words cut as a razor that fall into time. We have truths of solace . As you have all and me my this simple ryhme. Wicked is the love a devilish conception. As it brings a dellusion of happiness. Lost in the emptyness of your decption.

It's hard to understand how people can be so ingenuous, especially in matters of the heart. There are too many "gamers" who make those who are true of heart suffer. "Delusions of happiness" can leave us feeling worse than if we had never thought we found love. I think that's why so many people opt to be alone after being hurt. Excellent write, John, and I LOVED your "possum" lines. What a great sense of humor! Love, Carolyn
