Deception
Deception

Without question, being truthful, is always better,
for once we’ve told a falsehood we can’t unfetter.
Some can’t repeat a story without detail changing,
endeavoring to keep our interest, fact rearranging.
Liars generally aren’t sorry for a lie they’ve wrought,
most times they’re just remorseful for getting caught.
Better to confess your ignorance and let the chips fly,
than by digging a deeper hole and perpetuating a lie.
“When you stretch the truth,
watch out for the snapback.”
