December Seventh, 1941

Hey Jimmy, What Do You Know?
I Haven't Seen You in All These Years.
The Last Time We Were Together,
We Cried a Lot of Tears.

How Is it Do You Suppose,
That We Were Chosen to Live?
When So Many Others Went down
And Gave All They Had to Give?

That Day Went down in History.
I'll Never Forget the Date.
It Was the Beginning of a Nightmare,
That Sealed So Many's Fate.

A Lot of Lives Were Lost That Day,
And in the End We Won.
But the Price of Freedom Was Written in Blood...
On December Seventh, Nineteen Forty One.

Painful History that was never told the way you did, Connie. That's a clever composition. Invoking as it does, memories of that war, veterans will identify with it, I'm sure of that. I enjoyed the poem...JM

A very tragic day, but a very nice poem. Poems like these keep that solemn promise of "Never Forget". I know I never will and poetic words like this keeps it fresh in our minds. Thank You!
