Deceit

you hold her in your heart
keeping me on a string
you feed her half-truths
I have lived everything

what little she knows
what you give her to believe
you hide it so well
your character, it seems

your true love for her
your passion for me
you want it all
do you think I can't see

as you dance with us both
a large shadow you leave
but the love that you share
is framed with deceit

I would rather be me
seeing these parts of you
cause a love based on lies
is eventually doomed

when you look at her photo
love coursing through your veins
remember what you told me
the ghost card remains
