Debilitation

Tiredness has me enveloped, Wrapped in the arms of its misery. Though darkness long since fled coming of day My eyes cannot open to see. Trapped- this body, imprisoned by its hold, The cloying embrace that won’t let me be. I can only respond to beckoning sleep As in sweet oblivion she cradles me. I’m sure anyone facing ongoing illness will be able to identify with this.I wish you all strength and hope. June x

Hi June, I've read several of your works this morning. This is by far one of your best creations. It is concise and riveting. Very well crafted. (I pray that your health is stabilized. I wish you well.) In most of your works you have "love" at the core. Nothing is more powerful than love....Great stuff! I want to thank you for reading and enjoying my short story. They don't seem to have an area at the short story site to make comments. Have a great day. Take care. Earl

I hear you loud and clear Sylvia. I got maybe three hours at most last night and often don't get any sleep. Poetry keeps me company when my eyes aren't too tired to read. Your ending is superb! : )

I sympathise with you Connie. I deal with age problems and a long term illness. I have found soothing music can help me if I can’t sleep,I also agree with you about Poetry. Thank you for your comment and all the best to you
