Death's wings

The only time I was ever happy
Was when we,
Grandma and I sang songs of old times
It made me feel so safe and yes,
I believed nothing could take the pleasure away.

But one night,
On a very cold night
Her body lay as white as a corpse
Yes
That was what it was

She was covered by deaths cold wings
Protected from ever breathing life again

And just like that those memories were lost
Because death's wings took her away.
