Death Wish
She likes to swim in fountains
Swallow pennies
Put plastic bags over her head
Or watch while her friend films one blowing in the wind
She rips the wrapping off CDs
With glee
And dances in circles during lightening storms
Or catches hail stones in her hand
She jumps in the back of the truck
And insists she'll never ride up front
Her ambition is to become a storm chaser
Or a firefighter or a cop
Anything dangerous
She wonders what it would feel like to be a shooting star
To crash to earth from the sky
Perhaps in her next life she'll return as a meteor
Or a comet
Burning hot, fast and bright
