Death To Life

Sunset until daybreak
Mournful tears disperse
Grieving widow’s heartache
Rhyming woeful verse

Pencil topper lifted
Graphite scribbled prose
Candle holder shifted
Table's withered rose

Somewhere marvel science
Infant newly born
Crying pierces silence
Breaching early mourn

Joyful teardrops glisten
Mother’s newfound joy
Widow cannot listen
Whispers, “It’s a boy.”

Ohhhhhhh you wrote a deep and beautiful poem. Somehow from your own heart you wove profound feel into his form and delivered a masterpiece. I have poem chills, a poetry high - however you understand it, I now have it and I love it. Plus, on the light side you made me realize line 2 is not 2 syllable words as I have on and off played with all day. With this visit, it is all good, except your poem which surpasses good. I'm not so sure I should be happy that I just helped the best poet on soup with a contest that she will outwrite (Oh? don't think that's a word spellcheck? Bite me!) me with her talent.
