Death Saw Me

death saw me
& past on look'g straight on
like some timid & sad folks
from some war-torn regions -
an almost wither'd soul
he scarcely noticed her person
as she refused to sooth him up
she laugh'd slyly & past
why dost thou laugh?
didst thou not consider before hand
the booty of my manly stature?
half-asking & half-statement
but she sneer'd & past on
death art thou dead 
& canst not view well
the booty of my manly stature?
half-asking & half-statement
but death look'd at me
& past on look'g straight on ...
