Death of a Man

By Laura Dee
October 12, 2014

He traveled far and wide
For years and years he tried
Lost in the world he knows
He just put on a show

So come on its alright
No battles left to fight
He speaks as if he's died
Who knew he was the bride?

He lied so long for them
A game he'd never win
No choice for him to say
"I'll be that man every day"

Don't understand? It's cool
Cause I don't get your rules
You live Inside your perfect glow
The one he lost alone,
      a long, long time ago

He'll never come back home
For years and years he'll roam
He'll never find that place
A million steps embraced

Just fade into the light
Among the darkest the nights
He gave his perfect life away
Released HER eyes to guide the way
