Death Is Coming

The roses are wilted, The lilies are too, Death has been seated, Right next to you, Don't look now, Don't make a move, I'll show you how, To escape real smooth, First rise to your feet, Nice and easy, Straighten and look neat, Now that was breezy, Start to walk straight, Head for the door, Don't you stop to wait, Straight line no detour, If you don't reach it quick, If you don't reach it fast, That last second tick, Will be your last, You made it out, Your free to go, But remember what we talked about, Don't ever stoop so low, Don't you come back, Don't you come near, Or he'll be back on the track, The midnight train whistle in your ear, To come snatch you away, No ticket for admission, To grab any stray, Is his ambition, So stay humble, Stay smart, About others don't mumble, Or he will take your heart, Now heed my warning, Don't you stay, Or for you there will be mourning, The very next day.
