Death and Grim

Death and Grim

I ride the winds of red and black
Look into the pale eyes that beacon
Into empty skies where it rings
The deadly grasp, I cannot escape it
Skies rain blood while vengeance sings

And though I do not answer the call
I feel the connection deep within me
See not flowers that surround my home
Only darkness of death, He and I
Blackness takes me. In emptiness we roam

Because I am shadowed by death and grim
My only hope is burned in ashen chance
Vision of Life? Just as I had hoped for
“Is my life so frayed?” I whispered once
Limited by razor fate, I hope no more

By letting go, We’re One, He and I
The only thread here to hold, I cannot
Definition and all knowing, I go
Of sweet Lilies and sage, my end does scream
Life achingly lets go. Pain no more? No!
