Death

It was the moment before death I drew one last breath Dreamt of paradise Then closed my eyes Creepy is the feeling When you know It is the real thing And you must go No time to mourn In a flash you are gone Life does not warn And death comes alone Never taking no for an answer Killing you in your sleep Or destroying you with cancer He doesn’t make a peep Simple and grotesque Crudely gentle often He comes in a mask Ready with your coffin
