Dearest Ardyce, Part one of When I was younger
Introduction: Ardyce, was a friend of my now deceased mother, Eleanor May Dubarry.
The three of us met while riding Everett's para transit's bus while we were still living
in a alley way house, owned and operated by Compass Health.
This is a letter that I wrote for mom's close friend on October 04, 2002, but I never gave it to her.
Ardyce moved to a small mountain town in the state of Nevada because her son lived in that state.
She used to call my mother from Nevada, at first, but then she quit calling her. All of those long distance phone calls were costing her too much money.
Dearest Ardyce,
Faithful are the words of a friend!
I've been working on the computer.
It usually wins! Mom's moth,
(Ethel Pennock) gave her a recipe
book which she wants on a diskette.
I think I can do that for her later!
Mom is out of the shower! She
still has my "(cold)."
Mom never was a hunter. She was
quit " a lady fisher woman." Though
(I'll let her tell you all about
that herself.
The three of us: Mom, Lynn and I
are a complete family unit. Brian
died, at 27, 1982. Dale and Mark
have their own lives to live and
don't need us at all! All we can
do is pray for them--God can help
them--we can't! A lot of family's
are split now days, you aren't alone.
Mom's pleased as punch you decided
to keep us, "POSTED."
I have to close for now until latter on.--
That's the end of my letter.
Glad you are feeling better.
Mom sends her love (from God above)
and so do I!
Love in Christ,
Roxy
Dearest Ardyce,
I'm writing you this letter on my
48th birthday! We're having blackberry
pie (with dream whip) and ice cream.
We aren't going to Ockober Fest after all
'cause the family budget won't allow it.
Tomorrow, October 5th is the actual event.
(at home of course) The para transit van
will pick Lynn up from Colby House 11:30
and take her back at 7:15. (Just in case
Mary doesn't show up tomorrow.)
Tell me, Ardyce does Carly have a new home
with you? From your September 28th letter,
I understand you really wanted her!
Mom has also been a busy baker, as excellent
cooks, the two of you have much in common.
Cosco sells good raspberry & strawberry jam.
We love taco's a lot t oo, but because of my
stomach meds Protonex 40 Mg, we have to be
careful what we eat.
Mom likes too talk about 'the good old days but she
doesn't like talking about bad times. She wants to
forget about bad times. She wants to forget dad--
can't blame her one bit!
Continue praying for restoration (to God) and
reconciliations (family) between you& Maya &
Tammy and Buck! The Lord Jesus will 'knit'
you into a family again hopefully!
The Pennocks' are the hunters on our side (mom's
relatives are the only one we want to have contact
with!) They like hunting at Curlou (Eastern wash &
fishing.)
Dr. Steve Welly, our chiropractor loves to go fishing once
a year with his 'fishin' buddy in Alaska. He showed us a
picture (we have it) of the two of them, and Dr's Steve's
FISH (taller than he is!)
Glad you and Mya have a CHURCH HOME! As for Barbara
Taylor Bradford--we saw the series on TV--many years ago!
Honey, we don't plan on reading 'A Woman of Substance'
or any of her books! They're rated R! As a friend, I'll tell you
truthfully--read Janette instead! Give up her books please!
For Linda's sake (And yours!)
I'm glad you told me, honey! I'll Pray For You! Romans 6:23
You pray for us too!
Love in Christ Jesus,

Dear Roxanne April 7, 1989
Enclosed are your poems which I said that I would type
up for you. I am sorry I took so long in getting them done.
I just have been real busy trying to get everything done that
has to be done this time of year. Still can't plant the garden,
as there is just to dern much rain and water standing every where.
Makes me a little angry. But you know the saying,"the best laid
plans of mice and men." Gees! I hope that we are not i n for
another 310 days of rain like last year. I just couldn't handle
it.
I enjoy your poems very much. And, I hope and
wish you the very best of luck on getting published. I am going to try
and get some of my own work done this coming month. I have been
procrastinating long enough. I guess I'm a big scardie-cat.
That's one big fault of an Aquarius, they don't like or accept
defeat will at all. So, I come by it naturally. But I have
promised myself that I would do it this month, come (excuse the
expression hell or high water...............!
I hope you are feeling much better by now.
I was sorry to hear that you are feeling poorly and sick. I hope
the ole' flu bug has left and your in for that great adventure that
life holds for us all.
As you see on the poems that I left them
blank on the bottom. I thought you could use them to
copies in the future, and add whatever you cared to on the bottom
of that copy. If, you have others you would liked typed, just
let me know.
I have my business cards ordered and I think I
will be able to go into Everett one day this coming week and
get my notary public seal. I am trying for it anyway for this
coming week. But of course IF the weather turns out nice I
will have to get some gardening done first.
I have a little HEN (chicken) setting now, (babies
due about the 24th.) and I have a duck hen that is starting to
pull feathers and she will probably go to setting in the next
few days. So, I'll have some baby ducks too. I have two duck (hens)
and the other one will hopefully set also sometime soon.
I am enclosing a poem, that I found to be so very
true. It's sort of "food for thought". Later, when I get all
my stuff typed and done up, I will share some of my work with
you. Right now, they are in a mess and I'm ashamed of myself
for letting things get this way. I won't let anyone see any-
thing. They'd think "what a slob." And, I'm really not. My
Bob is always after me because I have to have everything in it's
place. He'd laugh at this mess. I keep it hidden real good......! Believe
me.
Well, I shall close for now and hope to hear from
you sometime. We really had a mess at the VITA site on Wednesday
night. Looks like we will have for the next two or more times,
as the dead line is getting closer and closer. I have to work
on Saturday, the 15th too.
Tell your mom "hello" for me and your sister and
get better real soon. Take care.............and........
God's blessings to you and yours Always,
Your Friend,
Jo An' Mitchell.
The clock of life is wound but once.
And no man has the power to tell when the
hands will stop.
On what day............Or what hour.
Now is the the only time you have
So live it with with a will. Don't wait until
tomorrow
The hands may then by still......
(I don't know who wrote this
I found it and liked it.)
***Jo An' always underlined the word IF in her letter and the
word Now was also underlined on the poem she shared with me.
Her husband Bob and her lived in Snohomish, Washington but
latter on left Washington State and moved elsewhere but I
can't remember where and we lost touch with each other
after they moved away.
