Dear Stranger

Dear stranger, pouring those capsules into relenting palms, ready to down the pain away - don't do it. Dear stranger, testing that edge against naked skin, hoping to cut away the hopelessness - don't do it. Dear stranger, trying a knot with desperate fingers, believing it will clutch away the loneliness - don't do it. Dear stranger, reading these lines, consumed with despair, don't let a moment become your definition - you're stronger, my friend.
